INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY
HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY!
March is Women’s History Month, but today is International Women’s Day and what better way to celebrate than to honor these three wonderful ladies from the Little Elm Police Department.
For 2022, Officer but now Corporal Brooke Taylor (left) received the Officer of the Year Award!
“Officer Taylor is always willing to stay and help others out. Her determination to assist fellow officers is evident. She’s always willing to come in on her days off and give it 💯.”
“I have seen Officer Taylor training other officers out in the field. She has the drive to teach others and set them on the right path to great things. She’s become an asset to the department and she continues to grow. I’ve worked alongside her from a previous department and I’m proud to say she’s a tremendous officer and now a positive role model in a leadership position. Keep on shining! Your mom is watching over you with a huge smile on her face.” ❤️
Officer Cara Penrod (center) received the Life Saving Award after her heroic actions. During the ice storm that hit North Texas, a medical call came out involving a possible stroke. Officer Penrod went into hero mode and responded swiftly. She responded before medical personnel could and she immediately began to conduct CPR. At the time of her arrival, the patient did not have a pulse and was not breathing. Through Officer Penrod’s quick response and fast actions, the patient began breathing and regained their pulse. When medics arrived, they took over and Officer Penrod provided a courtesy ride for the patient’s family member to the hospital. You, Officer Penrod, went above and beyond the call of duty and the department as well as the community are grateful to have you here!
For 2022, Sergeant Megan Lescallett (right) received the Supervisor of the Year Award!
“I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for her. I called her one night and told her I wanted my career to grow because I have so much to offer. She listened and she helped me along the way. I’ll never forget that phone call. Now I’m a detective and I give Sarge so much credit for being there for me. Much love Sarge! 🥹”
“Sergeant Lescallett is the type of person that will help anyone, regardless of rank, title, or position whatsoever. She leads by example and always stays behind the scenes to see her fellow officers and detective shine on. She’s an inspiration to the younger generation of officers here at the department.”
From all of us, thank you ladies for being what the Little Elm Police Department stands for ❤️ Enjoy your day!
